Swap Pro ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Swap Pro mobile application, a barter exchange platform that enables users to trade goods and services using a credit system and prepaid transaction fees. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our app and related services.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the app:
- Account information: Name, email address, phone number, and password (stored as a hashed value).
- Profile data: Active listings, swap history, pending requests, and credit wallet balance.
- Listing content: Titles, descriptions, categories, conditions, estimated values, wishlists, and up to five images per listing.
- Transaction data: Swap requests, fee payments, refunds, price difference settlements, and Paystack payment references.
- Location data: GPS coordinates and location preferences used for search radius and routing to swap hubs via Google Maps.
- Device and usage data: Device type, operating system, push notification tokens (FCM/APNs), and in-app activity for notifications and service improvement.
- Hub attendance records: Digital attendance marks recorded by Swap Pro officials during scheduled swap meetings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Create and manage your account, including authentication and password reset.
- Enable listing creation, search, filtering, and swap request workflows.
- Calculate value differences and manage your credit wallet (earned, spent, and transaction history).
- Process transaction fees and price difference payments through Paystack.
- Schedule swap hub meetings and provide Google Maps routing.
- Send push notifications and in-app alerts (swap requests, approvals, meeting reminders, no-show penalties).
- Enforce no-show policies, strike records, and account restrictions.
- Provide admin dashboard metrics and dispute resolution support.
- Improve app performance, security, and user experience.
3. Third-Party Services
Swap Pro integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Paystack: Payment processing for transaction fees, refunds, and cash difference settlements. Paystack is PCI-compliant. We do not store full payment card details on our servers.
- Google Maps SDK: Location selection, hub routing, and map display. Google may collect location and usage data as described in Google's Privacy Policy.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) / Apple Push Notification Service (APNs): Delivery of push notifications to your device.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data:
- With other users as necessary to facilitate swaps (e.g., listing details, meeting times, hub locations).
- With Swap Pro hub officials to verify attendance and complete swaps.
- With payment processors (Paystack) to process fees and refunds.
- When required by law, regulation, or legal process.
- To protect the rights, safety, and security of Swap Pro, our users, and the public.
5. Credit Wallet Data
Your credit balance and credit transaction history are stored securely. Credit has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, and cannot be transferred between users. We retain credit transaction records for accounting and dispute resolution purposes.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. Listings expire after 30 days unless renewed. Transaction and swap records may be retained for legal, accounting, and dispute resolution purposes after account deletion. See our Account Deletion page for details on data removal.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for all communications, bcrypt password hashing, and secure API integrations. While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or update your personal information through the app profile settings.
- Delete your account and associated personal data (see Account Deletion).
- Opt out of push notifications through your device settings.
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us.
9. Children's Privacy
Swap Pro is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the app or via email. Continued use of Swap Pro after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
